2nd Test at Kanpur

5 day Battle begins...

Sri Lanka started brilliantly in the first Test but were thwarted first by Rahul Dravid and then the pitch in Ahmedabad. Momentum is an over-rated word, though, and both teams will start afresh in Kanpur.

For India, Harbhajan Singh is yet to recapture the form he showed on the tour of New Zealand, where he was at the top of his game. The usually skillful Amit Mishra had a poor game, struggling for control and looking out of sorts. Will India see it as a one-off bad game and trust Mishra with another? So BOWLING need a big improvement...

 

Pitch Report:

The last time India played a Test in Kanpur, they prepared a spin track to trounce South Africa by eight wickets.They even opened the bowling with Harbhajan in the second innings.

This time around the curator says it will be a sporting track with the spinners coming into play from the third day. A lot of attention has been showered on the pitch in the lead-up to this Test.

First day

Rahul Dravid has also closed in on yet another century (85), while Tendulkar was solid after coming in late in the day.Stumps day 1..

So IND posted a big total of 417/2 in DAY 1..Its too much for SL..So Ind won the first day !!!

Strategy:

Now Ind need anotr HALF a day (Not more than tat) hit some biggies and move the total to 550-600..So if Ind bowled well(PITCH might get SLOW), SL out of the game..

Yuvi & MSD shld play fire innings to make scorecard ticking within tea...

Hope Dravid & Master shld give a start(First hr s crucial)..Based on situation, VVS 's batting order shld changed...

One more IND shld understand..We r giving 1st innings to SL in the After Noon session,then have to bowl well(becz pitch dried,no air movement for seamers)..So anotr option s declare at 10 or 15 overs reamin of the day.(if ind played well tomo)..
